|
Objectives are statements of the desired outcomes for an English language arts course. They describe what students should achieve in that course. The following foundational and learning objectives are taken from the English language arts guide and put in checklist format for teachers to use during unit and lesson planning, during instruction, and during the assessment and evaluation process. The checklists include objectives for each of the six language arts strands as well as the language concepts that students are expected to use and understand as they listen, speak, read, write, view, and represent. Elementary LevelMiddle LevelNote: The objectives identified for the Middle Level are those objectives in the renewed Middle Level language arts curriculum guide. Secondary LevelNote: In order to highlight the importance of language study, the objectives for the Secondary Level begin with the grade level language study objectives followed by the objectives for each of the six language strands. |
