When Josepha decides to escape the isolation and embarrassment of the classroom by taking a job during harvest, his best friend and his teacher both realize that Josepha's lack of English skills have restricted his intellectual development. This is a touching story of immigrants' problems. It includes bold, distinctive illustrations that draw from many art movements of the past.
