As the two elderly women recollect their flight north and their lives as slaves, they highlight in detail the injustices they fled and the friendship they have formed as survivors in a new land. This play presents the distinct voice of each character and the realistic bond between the women.

(CAN) In this memoir written by one of Canada’s foremost scientists, Suzuki identifies and describes the cultural, historical, and academic factors contributing to his gradual metamorphosis. The author writes about his parents and grandparents, his family’s identity and struggles as Japanese Canadians, and the successes and failures of his personal life. Included are a table of contents, eight pages of family photographs, and an epilogue containing articles written between 1981 and 1986. Using footage of scenery in England, and late 15th century armour, castles, weapons, and art work, this video presents the search to authenticate the Arthurian legend. The narration also makes connections between the legend and people’s continuing need for heroic models as identified in movies, cartoons, and John Kennedy’s presidency.

(CAN) Based on the ironic story by Mordecai Richler, this video explores attitudes toward Jewish people in Canada. When Shalinsky,an eccentric Jewish intellectual, believes that a college lecturer is secretly a Jew who has changed his name, he harrasses the man. This story contains black humour and an ironic conclusion.
