Things Change focuses on change in the living and non-living environment. It points out that some changes are natural and some are caused by humans. Examples of slow natural changes and sudden, natural changes are given. Also stresses that some human changes are good such as protection of endangered species, while some are bad such as pollution. Good and Bad Changes discusses the negative and positive effects of natural and human changes. Examples of good changes caused by humans are making laws and parks to protect nature, working to replant trees and so on. Emphasizes that people are responsible for making good or bad changes--there is a choice.

Classroom discussion is followed by footage of astronauts demonstrating those toys during a 1985 space shuttle flight. Shows gyroscope, jacks, yo-yo and slinky. Camera work a bit weak, but still worth watching. Teacher's guide suggests related activities, explains scientific principles.
