The filmstrips illustrate finger weaving as an expanded braiding used to produce fabric belts, garters, and sashes. The well-organized explanations present a thorough description of this intricate and time-consuming craft. Audiocassettes and a teachers guide are included.

The Mexican Muralists: Painting With Fire
(Video). American School Publishers (AScP), 1990. 29 min. ISBN 0-87-909734-0 ($106.08 U.S.).
This program includes:
Part I: A Message for the Masses
Part II: The Meanings of the Murals.
The Mexican Revolution of 1910 produced a generation of painters who combined personal expression and political commitment. This slide-tape-on-video program offers a survey of the social context in which muralists were commissioned to create elaborate murals for political persuasion. It also illustrates how the muralists forged their own style of modernism that combined European influences with distinctive Mexican folk art.
