How to Use the Bibliography


The bibliography is organized into the following sections:
Titles and Descriptions: Titles are listed alphabetically. The citations provide bibliographic information, sources, annotations, and suggested use which includes the topic of study that the materials would appropriately support. The abbreviation hdc. denotes hardcover edition, while pbk. denotes paperback edition. An example of a citation for print is:
Experimenting With Illusions (Print-Non-Fiction). Gardner, Robert. (A Venture Book). Franklin Watts (GRO), 1990. 127 p. ISBN 0-531-10907-7 ($16.50 hdc.)
Suggested Use: (TOPICS) This section provides ideas for ways the material could be utilized. Teachers are encouraged to employ the resources for as many appropriate teaching situations as possible.
Other Uses: As an aid for purchasing and in the use of materials, other subjects are noted for which the material has or may be listed. Teachers may find additional uses to those listed, or may find some of the uses listed to be inappropriate for their needs.
Topical Indexes: Titles are divided by grade and listed alphabetically under each topic.
Media Indexes: Titles are divided by grade and listed alphabetically under each media designation.
Free or Inexpensive Materials: A list of titles which are free on loan or available for purchase plus a list of titles with a purchase price of less than ten dollars, have been included. The titles are sorted by media designation and then listed alphabetically. Grades are indicated in parenthesis after each title.
Distributor Directory: The abbreviations, enclosed in parentheses following the publisher or producer, represent the distributor. The full name and address of each company are given in this section.
