The storyline introduces each member of the trio as the verse of their favourite song and their advent into the family are explained. The subtle emphasis on the idea that families are made, not born and the lively language and gentle repetition make this an excellent read-aloud choice for younger audiences. The watercolours by Jeram are as pleasurable as ever.

Although this program does not explain how chicken pox is spread, it does illustrate the symptoms.
In Arthur and the True Francine, Muffy and Francine are the best of friends until Muffy cheats on a math test and lets Francine take the blame.

In D.W., the Copycat, D.W. wants to be just like Arthur. Finally, Arthur is able to convince her that the world is only big enough for one of him!

(CAN, I/M) This very attractively presented counting book is actually two books in one. The counting book features full-colour illustrations of Arctic animals in a hunter-prey relationship. Kusugak, with his intimate knowledge of the North uses kindliness and humour to introduce number concepts ranging from one polar bear to one million berries that "ripen in the fall." In four pages at the end of the book, Kusugak writes of the life he and his family live in Rankin Inlet, among the animals of the tundra and the polar sea. There is a glossary of northern terms at the end of the book. The illustrations by Vladyana Krykorka reflect the deep enjoyment of the landscape and wildlife described in the text.
