(CAN) This video follows Canada. s Olympic women. s hockey team as they prepare for and then compete at the 1998 Olympics. Through their stories, many of the gender stereotypes about women in sports are broken down. Some of the concepts that come through in the program are the idea of women as role models in sports, issues of gender equity, the importance of setting personal and team goals and the importance of cooperation and teamwork.

The games are grouped into sections such as tag games, individual challenges, fitness activities, striking and fielding games and water games. For each game, all the necessary information is presented in a well-laid-out format. Suitable ages, benefits, number of participants, equipment, safety, procedure and helpful hints are all given. Diagrams and illustrations are used to help create a better understanding of how each game is played.

His grandpa comes to the rescue with an old two wheeler that is just the right size for Gus. Through perseverance and practice, Gus finally learns how to ride his bike. This is an excellent story to use with the younger grades, and it could be tied in with a bike rodeo.

The full-page colour drawings complement the poems beautifully.
