I Feel Orange Today (Print-Fiction). Godwin, Patricia and Macaulay, Kitty, illus. Annick Press (FIR), 1993. unp. ISBN 1-55037-284-X ($14.95 hdc.). ISBN 1-55037-285-8 ($5.95 pbk.).
(CAN) For the young, sensitive boy in this delightful story, most days are a rainbow of colours. However, some days are predominantly one colour. For example, a red day is when he calls the teacher mom by mistake or gets angry with his brother; a green day is very quiet, except for the rustling of leaves; and a purple day is just a muddle! The sprightly illustrations by Kitty Macaulay, done in watercolour, pen, and ink convey character and effectively portray the range of emotions presented. This would be a wonderful resource to support lessons that deal with expressing feelings. Possibly, students could respond to the story by telling or drawing what colour they feel that day and what they want to do when they feel that way.

Imhoff continued to donate his time and effort and decorated dozens of Catholic churches across the province. In 1921, he built a large studio on his farm, creating the first art gallery in the area. In 1937, Imhoff was knighted by Pope Pius IX into the order of St. Gregory the Great for his generosity to the Catholic Church. Imhoff continued to paint every day in his studio until his death in 1939.
