This video does a very good job of providing tips on how to acquire jobs that students really want. Resumes, interviews, and the importance of proper dress are focused on as well as topics such as company research and dealing with co-workers.

The teacher’s guide provides several practical activities and fact sheets to reinforce the concepts in the video.

(CAN) Divided into five modules, this resource examines job preparation, job maintenance, and personal safety. Planning and proactivity projects are also included. This comprehensive package is aimed at developing core career competencies. These competencies include the knowledge, skills, concepts, attitudes, and behaviours necessary to be successful in acquiring and maintaining a job. The modules have been designed in Alberta with the requirements of individuals with learning difficulties in mind. Teachers in Saskatchewan will be able to use portions of the resource to support certain aspects of the curriculum.

The first three modules were recommended and listed in the Career and Work Exploration section of the Practical and Applied Arts Bibliography in 2003.
