Teachers and students should be
aware that this could possibly
minimize history and reinforce
stereotypes. For example,
minimizing history:
non-Aboriginal peoples'
survival often depended on
Aboriginal technology
(i.e.,
canoes, snowshoes)
An example of sterotyping:
non-Aboriginal peoples
do not
need the technology,
skills
and values of Aboriginal
peoples.
