The Common Essential Learnings can be developed through particular topics or materials, learning processes, and teacher beliefs and practices. Throughout this checklist, the following symbols are used to refer to the Common Essential Learnings:

It is understood that alternative checklists to support the incorporation of the C.E.L.s can be developed. A listing of objectives for the C.E.L.s (from which alternative checklists can be developed) can be found on Saskatchewan Education's web site (www.sasked.gov.sk.ca/docs/policy/cels/celobj.html).
In this unit of study, I plan to provide students with the opportunity to:

__ communicate using various forms for differing audiences and purposes (C)
__ participate in activities that focus on real world situations involving quantitative information (N)
__ read, interpret, and communicate facts and figures through reports, charts, and graphs (N)
__ develop their ability to analyze and critique everyday statistics and reporting techniques (N)
__ touch, handle, manipulate, or experiment with materials so that they can discuss their observations from an experiential point of view (CCT)
__ generate and evaluate ideas, processes, and products (CCT)
__ participate in activities that focus upon different points of view or alternative perceptions, and support students in developing their own perspectives and giving reasons/evidence for their perspectives/positions/conclusions (CCT)
__ understand that technology can be used to facilitate language learning and communication (TL)
__ examine how technology shapes and is shaped by their lives, society, and the environment (TL)
__ develop an understanding of both the value and limitations of technology within society (TL)
