Introduction

Effective implementation of a new course of study necessitates administrative commitment and support. To enable administrators to play an active role in curriculum implementation, information and assistance must be provided.

This bulletin has been designed to enable school-based administrators and others to support teachers in implementing a quality elementary science program. The objectives of this document are as follows:

The Elementary Level Curriculum Guide (1990) contains a version of grade six science meant to be used in schools that wished to use the new science curriculum in grade six during the period from September 1990 to June, 1993, before the Middle Level Science guide became available. Request a copy of the 1993 version of the grade six units from your Regional Coordinator - Curriculum and Instruction or use the version that comes with Science: A Curriculum Guide for the Middle Level. (Saskatchewan Education, Training and Employment - September 1993).
