Assigned questions cover basic facts and knowledge. It is recommended that assigned questions require a mixture of convergent (single correct) and divergent (open-ended) answers. Teachers may assign questions for students to answer on an individual basis which would allow teachers to provide individual assistance to students at their work stations.

Writing is an instructional method in entrepreneurship allowing students to express independently information, concerns, or ideas that are important to the entrepreneurial process.
Composition. Students may compose questions, letters and reports in Entrepreneurship. For example, students may compose thank you letters for information gained in an interview or compose correspondence requesting secondary research data. After the composition, students may be asked to look for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and other errors within the composed items.
Students may be involved in processing research information and using word processing while composing their work. Using writing and composition in Entrepreneurship helps to develop further the communication skills important to the business world.
Journal Writing. A journal is a collection of feelings, reactions, notes, observations, questions, or other pieces of information that may be used for future reference or that may be kept as a record of thoughts and experiences. The journal should not be evaluated for content and may or may not be shared with others.
In entrepreneurship studies, the process of being entrepreneurial is often more important than a "right answer" or product. Journal writing will allow students to record their thoughts and feelings freely. The journal may be used to help students clarify under what circumstances they perform their best entrepreneurial critical and creative thinking, and determine what they are "best at". Another application may involve students individually preparing a journal writing activity with a specific focus and discussing it with a partner before a large group discussion.

A learning contract provides a method of individualizing instruction and developing student responsibility. As a learning contract permits individual pacing, it may be used effectively in the entrepreneurship classroom for venture planning. Students may function at the predetermined level(s)/time frames set up in the contract.
