* Refer to the chart, Foundational Objectives K-5 for objectives that are not mentioned in this list but that are routinely included in every class and evaluatino period.

* In addition to the objectives for the students, one objective for teachers would be to become familiar with the process used in developing a unit and to understand what steps were followed in the course of development.

Common Essentiel Learnings

The Post-Activity discussion provides an ideal opportunity for developing a number of the C.E.L.s, notably Communication and Independent Learning. Discussion can focus on the leanguage itself and how it is used (COM) or on how language is learned (IL). Units that foucs on a cultural goal might use the Post-Activity discussion to further develop objectives related to Personal and Social Values and Skills.

Adaptive Dimension

Students who are visual learbers will benefit from having the classroom expressions written on charts for reference. Those who have a better auditory memory will need to hear the expressions frequently in order to remember them.

Teachers are encouraged to use stem expressions which can be added to for a variety eof situations rather than learning each expression as a unit.

Eg. Est-ce queje peux...

Expressions may also be added as the year goes on and students learn new words or develop different needs.
