Portage - in teams of 6, students complete an obstacle course while holding a board (to represent a canoe) above their heads.
Snowshoe Race - teams are issued one pair of durable plastic snowshoes, members wearing the footwear traverse a distance and return to their teams.
Bannock Ties - Bannock, or galette as is was known to the voyageurs, is a pan-fried biscuit. Teams are set up as follows:
| A B C |

Using a frying pan, the front student tosses the bannock to the member of his or her team standing opposite, and if that team member catches the bannock, the thrower moves on. The race is played relay style. A non-edible substitute may be usd for bannock.
Dress the Voyageur - Voyageurs wore long-sleeved shirts, woolen pants, cloth belts, and toques. These articles are placed in a knapsack. A tumpline or head strap is attached to each knapsack so that it may be carried in traditional voyageur fashion. Provide one set of clothing for each relay team. One student from each team races to a line, pulls out the clothes from the sack, and puts them on. He or she then runs back to the start line, takes off the clothes, puts them back in the sack, and passes it on to the next team member.
