Sample 1: Half-day--Morning
Time Activities
9:00 - 9:10 Entrance. This is a good time for the teacher to get to know the children a little better. Usually they come into the classroom with some exciting news. If the teacher is reseptive, a healthy bond will grow.
9:10 - 10:05 Activity time. The children have a free choice of activities. This is a good time for the teacher to observe children or to work with small groups or individuals.
10:05 - 10:15 Clean up. As soon as the children are able to accept this responsibility it should be given to them. If the teacher is consistent, the children will soon feel confident.
10:15 - 10:25 Talking time. Many things can be inluded in this block of time. Examples include planning excursions, discussing pictures and sharing news.
10:25 - 10:30 Bathroom routine (if necessary) and dress for outdoors.
10:30 - 10:45 Outdoor play.
10:45 - 11:15 Gym time--Mondays, wednesdays, and Fridays or games, counting and related activities, dramatization, music (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
11:15 - 11:35 Story time (book exchange and story time in library on Tuesdays).
11:35 - 11:45 Preperation for home, evaluation, plans for tomorrow.
