· Materials Needed: several large potatoes, knives, pieces of white paper, coloured pencils.
· Work in groups of three to do this exercise.
· Cut off one side of the potato and place the slice on the piece
of paper. Trace the outline of the base and each slice of the potato on
a piece of paper. The drawing should look like this:
· Reconstruct the potato, measure the height of each slice,
and record the data on the map.
· Use colours and a legend to designate the different elevations
and title the map.
