Discuss the terms briefly and have students record the information in their notebooks. Explain that the selection(s) students will experience next lesson contain exaggeration and/or coincidence.

Explain that students must make arrangements to interview a grandparent, a great aunt or uncle, or an older friend or neighbour about their past experiences in this province. Students must contact their interviewees, prepare questions for the interview, and plan to take notes or record the interview. Remind students that their interviews must be completed by the beginning of Lesson Fourteen. These interviews are different from the interview conducted in Lessons One and Two. Students must conduct these interviews independently, out of the classroom.
