PAA Survey Workshop

Overview - Page 1

Requirements for Middle Level:
- at least three 50-hour courses between Grades 7 to 9 (for students entering Grade 7 Sept. 2004).
- modules are to be selected from a minimum of three curricula.

The intent of the middle level is to expose students to a variety of PAA courses by offering a balance of modules chosen from the six PAA clusters. For some students, this will help them make choices at the secondary level. For others, the middle level may offer their only exposure to PAA courses.

The integration of computer skills across the curriculum removes the need for computer literacy as a course. This will free up time to accommodate the PAA course requirements.

Requirements for Secondary Level:
- at least two 100-hour courses in total from Grades 10, 11 or 12 of either Arts Education and/or PAA.

It is important that middle level and secondary level PAA programming be coordinated. This program coordination will be of particular importance in schools whose students move on to another school.
