11.1   To understand the components of a production schedule.

To ensure the success of a play, time must be arranged for:

  • selecting and rehearsing the actors
  • designing the scenery, lighting, sound, properties, costumes, and make-up
  • constructing the sets, properties, and costumes
  • attracting an audience
  • technical and dress rehearsals.
11.2   To create a production schedule for a given play. (CCT, IL)

Consider the following:

  • working backwards: from the end to the beginning
  • production meetings
  • procedures.

Create a production schedule for a given play. An existing model schedule for a production may be consulted and adapted.

11.3   To prepare a budget for a given production. (NUM)

Prepare a list of actual cost for each aspect of:

  • Set Design and Construction
  • Lighting Design and Production
  • Sound Design and Production, Property Design
  • Costume Design and Construction
  • Make-up and Hair.
