Implementation Considerations

Some areas to consider when implementing the curriculum include: curriculum documents, key resources, equipment and facilities, teacher support, timetabling, use of community facilities, and the allocation of appropriate financial resources.

Curriculum Documents

Additional copies of these documents are available from the Book Bureau.

Wall charts for display and planning are available from the Book Bureau

Key Resources

Teachers are encouraged to review the complete Bibliography to select appropriate resources for their own and students' use. Key resources are listed in this bulletin in Appendix A. A number of these resources are available from the Book Bureau.

Staff Development

Saskatchewan Education, Training and Employment will provide inservice workshops for school division personnel implementing Physical Education 6-9. Teachers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity during the first two years of implementation.

Workshops will consist of an initial day in June or early September of 1995 and a follow-up day later in the school year. Details regarding specific dates, locations, and agenda will be provided to your school division by your Regional Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction.

School divisions are responsible for providing teacher release time and for the expenses incurred by their staff members to attend the implementation sessions.
